“You know you just qualified for Comrades.” I laughed it off in 2018 after my first marathon — but a seed had been planted. Six years later, I’ve finished Comrades twice. 2024 was steady and joyful. 2025 was hard-fought: illness, injury, doubt. But I kept going. If the first was a celebration of my journey, the second was a tribute to community, the people who lifted me when I couldn’t lift myself.
